Skyros island belongs to the northern Sporades, a complex of islands situated in the Aegean sea. As the southest of the islands, half way from the Cyclades, Skyros presents very varied sceneries to the visitor: from its dry deserted South to its luxuriant North covered with pine forests, you will find everything you like for your dream-holidays in Skyros. The main village and the port, Linaria, are very picturesque and offer many entertainments, museums to visit, souvenir shops as well as bars and restaurants to rest after a long day hiking in the mountains or lying on one of our amazing beaches. All around the island you will find a large range of activities to spend your days: horse-riding, hiking, scuba diving or a tour of the island on a sailing boat are just a few of them. Those interested in history will also be ravished by our archaeological site Palamari, where a 4000-years old settlement is still being excavated. If you are more of the nature kind, don't forget your binoculars as you will most certainly observe many species of passerines and raptors, among them the rare and highly endangered Eleonora's falcon. And if you decide to go further south until the plateau of Ari you may be lucky enough to see and approach some of the few Skyrian horses who still live wild in the mountains.
